Mr. Chief Justice, and his Honourable Colleagues.
It was brought to light yesterday that the referendum by which the current Constitution was ratified was subject to mismanagement related to the voter tally. Specifically, the citizenship roster was continually updated throughout the referendum, in contravention of longstanding precedent, to allow new individuals to become citizens during the vote.
This influenced the outcome of the vote- a practice that has been disallowed since the time we inhabited the former CFN- and is made even more palpable by the fact that at least one voter both attained citizenship and voted during the referendum, but left shortly after it concluded.
Yesterday, a regional poll was conducted to ask the citizenry if they feel a re-vote should be conducted. Although I and most people who have voted thus far strongly prefer a re-vote, I maintain that this was an improper means for handling the situation. As mismanagement of the citizenship roster allowed for individuals who would not otherwise be able to vote in a referendum to do just that, I believe it is the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court to determine whether a mismanaged referendum should justify an immediate re-vote on the matter at hand given that it falls well within the margin of error.
Thus, I ask that the Supreme Court invalidates the previous referendum under the charge of mismanagement, and dictate tha an immediate re-vote should be conducted.
