Purpose of this Office
The purpose of this Office is to keep and refine bills until such time that they can be presented to Parliament. Any and all legislation must be presented to this office first so that they can be brought into order with house rules and given a debating timetable.
Legislative Process
This Office represents the first stage of legislation: the first reading. Members of Parliament can read the bills being considered here, but cannot debate them until they are brought into the Debate Chamber by the Speaker, who moderates this forum. The full legislative process may be found here.
